Reaction to News of a W. World

It's odd - as a lone Canadian (to my discernment) in support of Bush over the last couple of months, the reaction to the W. win here in Canada by formerly virulently pro-Kerry lefties has been surprisingly subdued.

People are actually coming up to me and congratulating me (for supporting the winning candidate and enduring no end of very verbal opposition doing so, I guess), without rancor or recrimination against the winning candidate.

I don't see it as a huge surprise that Bush won: careful attention to Rove's mastery of the machinery necessary to turn out the vote (and his proven electoral-map knowledge) instead of the media topic-du-jour (al-aQaa ! Halliburton !) results from a Republican tendency to focus on the facts before applying partisan interpretation.
