Note to Self

Okay, you have the solution (agents and agencies) and you were looking for the problem, right ?

Well, here it is.

You have basic personal information (calendar, to-do list, email store, social networking information, photos/digital media [video + sound]) that is right now silo'ed in different places: gmail, planzo/basecamp, friendster/myspace/linkedin, your hard drive, etc.

Social networking is blooming, but it's still early in phase one; there is no negotation between silos for the exchange of information based on social networks, because the protocols for such exchange mechanisms don't exist.

Moreover, it's not yet fully realised that this exchange will be a) necessary and b) beneficial once the original social-media applications cross over (hey ! Find out which of your myspace pals are geographically near to you and check to see if your calendars overlap... maybe you're going to see the same band next week !)

This is where agents and agencies come in. Agents are our avatars, carrying varying amounts of our personal information and releasing it to various agencies, with differing permission levels, in exchange for various benefits.

Execute, and you're rich, because you've just created the 00's equivalent of email.
