The Last (Sensible) Democrat

Every time I watch Joe Lieberman on TV, I am struck by his sensible, unembellished commentary. No rhetorical excess, little partisan bashing, just trying to get the people's work done, is what I come away with.

I do wince at his constipation-evocative delivery, but he never fails to bring to my mind one National Review columnist's description of him as the only grownup left in the Democratic Party.
