Things That I Have Just Suddenly Thought

In a moment of quiet reflection (actually while reading a NYT review of a new Turkish restaurant 5 blocks away from where I used to live) I concluded that that I would happily trade the opportunity to live anywhere in the U.S. (or even in its possessions, excluding Guam) for my current locale.

Would that include West Virginia, I asked myself ?

Detroit ?

Portland, even ?
