Give the Kurds What They Want !

They've already established semi-autonomous self-rule, are a homogeneous group historically maltreated by the Sunnis, and have demonstrable reason to fear loss of all they've built up over the last few years with precious little help from the international community.

The new U.N. resolution on Iraq is indeed a stunning success for the Bush administration (he doesn't look so stupid now, does he ?), but pushing aside Kurdish concerns and having them bolt a unity government is a prescription for future failure.

All the Kurds are asking for right now is a guarantee that they won't lose what they've built. Give 'em what they want !
